Ćmy - pronounced /’t∫mi/ - Polish foggy/jazzy duo. “Ćmy” is Polish for “Moths” or “Barflies” (“ćmy barowe”).

Milton Waukee (producer, instrumentalist); Jorge Saxon (DJ, turntablist)

After 7 years of undercover action, the duo has finally revealed their identities. In an ingenious attempt to avoid prejudice among Polish listeners, Cmy managed to get their attention and be recognized as one of the freshest and inspiring acts to emerge from Poland in the last couple of years.

It turns out that Cmy are actually: Yaro a.k.a. Milton Waukee (a well-known and recognizable Polish music producer) and DJ George a.k.a. Jorge Saxon (Yaro’s long time music friend and co-worker).

DISCLAIMER: Cmy are NOT affiliated with (and do not take any responsibility for the image and actions of) the “Polish hip-hop community”.

Milton Waukee a.k.a. Yaro

one of the most talented Polish music producers, instrumentalist

Best known for his funky Polish massive hits: Rowery Dwa ('97) & Olewka ('00).

Music producer, recording studio & independent record label owner (Jazzda Music), teacher of (American) English (never worked as one), living in Warsaw, Poland; fan and user of Apple computers; recording & mixing engineer; Pro Tools & Logic Pro magician. Produced and composed for Kasia Klich, Cmy, Yaro, Reni Jusis, Onil, Liroy, Flap House Vag and others.

As a teenager (in the late 80's) played the guitar and sang in various post-punk bands, inspired by the likes of Joy Division, Dead Can Dance, The Cure, The Smiths, gradually leaning towards the direction of New Order and Afrika Bambaataa.

The milestone in his approach to music was the concert he attended in '88 - RUN DMC, Public Enemy, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, EPMD - in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (hence the nickname Milton Waukee). Another great influence was listening to Miles Davis' "Doo-Bop" and DJ Krush & Ronny Jordan's "Bad Brothers" masterpiece (around '93).

In '97 released his "Jazzda" album - west coast funk inspired and boldly sketching new horizons for the astonished average teenage Polish hip-hop head, who probably had never heard the word F-u-n-k before... Appreciated by true musicians and music lovers, rejected by "peer pressured" "street knowledge" fanatics.

In '00 released "Olewka" album, marking his disgust with the music industry and the superficiality of both love and hate from the listener. Best illustration of the mood is the opening track "Na dobry początek" (English introduction by Damian O'Donovan).

Both albums were nominated (in the hip-hop category) for the most prestigious Polish music award - Fryderyki.

In '01 Yaro was mentioned by Chuck D. as one of the best remixers in Public Enemy remix contest. Yaro's "By The Time I Get To Arizona" remix, after removing Chuck D's vocals, was later used as the foundation for Kasia Klich's song "Kosmate Myśli".
